“New Media Romanticism” (2018) is a series exploring the aesthetics of 19th century Romantic poetry through a metamodern lens—a place where authenticity and ‘Awe’ mingle with artificiality and trivial delight. Paying homage to geological and astronomical discoveries of the Romantic era, photographs of rocks from my own collection are altered with digitally painted constellations and paired with poems from Byron, Wordsworth, Keats, and Blake. LED lights and plastic-coated digital prints introduce mass-production of consumer goods, framed by recycled materials.
