The Machine Eats Paint and Spits Out Pattern (2021) is a digital series created by feeding a kaleidoscope algorithm six of my original paintings. Users of such programs can adjust scale, refraction, angle, and mirror count, exploring how narrative images can be fractured yet visually cohesive. This interactive, iterative process shows how altering patterns changes meaning, with some elements highlighted and others diminished. The paintings, from the Going Dutch series, reflect on inherited ideologies from early colonialists.
