Aimee Valentine is a writer, visual artist, and PhD candidate at Western Michigan University where she teaches creative writing, literature, and graphic narrative. She has an MFA from San Francisco State, and her work has appeared or is forthcoming in Witness, No Tokens, Hot Metal Bridge, TheHilltop Review, The Iowa Journal of Cultural Studies, TheRumpus, and Twelve Winters Press. Her research interests include visual rhetoric and new media, and she is the founding editor of inkt|art, a journal for female artists and writers. Aimee’s creative dissertation is entitled Good Looking in the Dark: A Narrative Across Three Mediums. This work is situated between literature and the interdisciplinary studies of visual culture.
